It usually comes down to how much life is left in the roof as a whole, not the size of the damage. A sound roof with one failed flashing or a cracked vent boot is a repair. A roof losing granules across every slope, with brittle or curling shingles, is being patched rather than fixed. An inspection should tell you which you are looking at, in writing, before anyone quotes. Our roof repair guide walks through the signs.

Read the answersChoosing the right service
Do I need a repair or a full replacement?+
What does a free estimate actually include?+
A look at the roof itself rather than a price over the phone: the field, the flashings, the penetrations and the ventilation, plus the decking where we can see it. You get the scope and the number in writing. We do not charge for it and there is no obligation.
Which shingle manufacturers do you install?+
GAF, Owens Corning and CertainTeed. All three publish their own warranty terms, and the cover depends on the system being installed to their spec — which is why the ventilation and the underlayment matter as much as the shingle. Our warranties guide explains what each layer actually covers.
Can you work with my insurance company?+
Yes. We document the damage, meet the adjuster on the roof where we can, and keep the photographic record your insurer asks for. What we cannot do is decide your claim — that is the carrier’s call. The insurance claims page sets out how the process runs.
Is there a way to spread the cost?+
There is financing through third-party lending partners, with terms from 12 to 60 months and no prepayment penalty, subject to credit approval. The detail and the application are on our financing page.
